Starting with August 1st, Petar has moved from Heidelberg to Erlangen and is now often in his B3 office. Let us hope that life at the institute will soon become more vivid after a long period of home office and empty corridors. We need a coffee solution soon!

At the end of July, Brenden left us after five years of PhD and PostDoc to return to Nova Scotia. Thank you for the great time and the cool results on Thorium in VUV-transparent crystals! We wish you all the best for the new start in industry!

In May 2021, Tobias Kirschbaum joins the X-Ray Quantum Optics group to do his Master thesis on the Thorium Nuclear Clock Project. He will work together with Brenden Nickerson.

In February 2021, Petar Andrejic officially joined us at FAU. Petar has started a PhD with Adriana in Heidelberg, and was so far employed at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics. He works on x-ray quantum optics and is a part of QuCoLiMa at the FAU.  

In January 2021, QuCoLiMa started, a "Quantum Cooperation of Light and Matter". In October 2020, Dr. Adriana Pálffy-Buß joined the chair of theoretical physics (Prof. Dr. Hartmann). She will establish a new research group "X-Ray Quantum Optics". Adriana was formerly a Minerva Fellow  at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg, Germany. She joins the FAU as a ...
